INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY MANAGER – MEDIA PRODUCTS SS01-ICM-10

The Media Group comprises the commercial teams responsible for the following Categories within Amazon - Books, Music, DVD, Video Games and Software. As such, this role is responsible for delivering effective marketing strategies, expanding ion, building and managing supplier relationships specifically for Italian language products. 
The key to the role is to be responsible for the procurement relationship between Amazon and content providers for ex. book publishers, music labels or movie studios.  The role requires a mix of strong partnership building and the desire to make the most of the commercial relationship. 

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and build comprehensive ion through strong vendor relationships including assessing and recommending annual terms and implementing pricing strategies.
• Be responsible for the following areas of business management: promotion, in-stock management in close relationship to the supply chain management team, product development and communicating vendor performance. 
• With the online content management team, develop and execute collaborative marketing and promotions for a wide variety of products across the category, including managing short term ad hoc funding. 
• Set up a category purchasing strategy along with supply chain teams and drive continual process improvements, such as improving vendor lead times.
• Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make the Amazon offering the best for the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong professional background ideally in an online, retail, e-commerce or consulting environment.
• Outstanding analytical skills
• Ability to think strategically and tactically excellent attention to detail
• Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
• Action and results oriented, combined with the ability to work in a demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must
• Ability to problem-solve using creative thinking and innovation
• Proven English and Italian skills – both verbal and written.
